Summer 2023 review:
Now at the Auditorium, we're testing the AUDIOMAT Maestro 4 with the Streamer option. The DAC/Streamer is paired with our UNISON RESEARCH Unico Primo or Unico Nuovo hybrid amplifiers. Then DRIADE Flow 405 loudspeaker cable with AMPHION 7LS loudspeakers.
Before installing them, I had a telephone discussion with Aktyna's designer, Panayotis Gioulos. I then installed his cables between the Maestro 4 and the amp, replacing the excellent Mad Scientist Black Magic RCAs.
The sound experience changes a lot. The listening impression is clearer, in direct contact with the music, each element is better embodied while at the same time the overall listening experience is immersive. The harmonic structure of the signal becomes clearer, more legible and less approximate. The bass becomes fuller, the midrange more fluid and the treble more coherent, with some very fine timbres.
In a nutshell: a little more control and openness, finesse and transparency!
*************************
Audiomat Maestro 4 brings together the best of the digital and analogue worlds. It offers a conversion that makes every nuance and detail palpable, transforming listening into an exciting experience. Everything is transcribed so that you can experience each track as it was imagined.
The finesse and fidelity of its timbre, the fluidity and the feeling of ease that the Maestro 4 gives you means that you can listen to the music with striking realism.
The three-dimensional sound image contributes to this feeling of musical reality. The most complex musical formations are reproduced with intelligibility and legibility.
Maestro 4 is available with an Ethernet option, giving it the functions of a top-of-the-range network player: Maestro 4 streamer.
The Maestro 4 is also available in its ultimate, most elaborate version: Audiomat Maestro 4 reference.
